THE CELLULITE-SHRINING PANTS
When it comes to keeping in shape, I've always stuck by the motto ‘no pain, no gain'
So I'm sceptical that a pair of briefs could do more than a Spinning class. But with summer approaching I'm willing to try anything to perk up my droopy bits. I reluctantly pack away my La Perlas and unpack an unsexy Lipo Contour - a cross between a Victorian girdle and Bridget Jones's big pants - dreamed up by cosmetic surgeon Professor Marco Gasparotti. The ‘god of lipo' would give a pair to his patients post-surgery to remodel the waist, stomach, thighs and bottom. His patients soon wore the Lipo Contour for longer to flatten their stomach and lift buttocks.
I wear the Lipo Contour for two weeks, and for the first few days, it feels like a boa constrictor wrapped around my waist. The patented double-layered fabric provides a constant uncomfortable ‘micro massage' but apparently this breaks down cellulite and perks up circulation, so I suffer in silence.
THE VERDICT: After a week of wearing the Lipo Contour for eight hours a day, I even forgot I have them on. I feel an immediate difference in my posture, and my stomach appears tighter, thighs firmer and cellulite less visible. Apparently, if I wear the pants for 12 week and eat healthily, the results will be permanent. I wouldn't replace a vigorous workout with the Lipo Contour pants, but it can definitely complement your fitness plan.
